There's a thread somewhere online where you can add a cigarette lighter spot thingy on your bike so you can charge the gps and have it powered. Digital gauges for rpms, **** you can buy the whole damn thing rpm, speed, temp in one digital spot. look in either the street fighter or stunt biek sections i can't remember

I read that write up awhile back actually and it scared me lol. but I'm slowly getting better and better with electrical work so we;ll see what happens when the time comes...

Will hopefully be updating with small progress towards this. While riding @ 95 on the freeway today, i lost my whole left fairing. It seems the wind was a major contributor as half of it ripped off from the bike while the rest remained. This give me motivation to start a fighter build!!

do the f4 tail!!!!

dagg92 07-05-2012 01:45 PM

Will I need to do any subframe work for it? IMO, the tail section makes the bike, so I would really like to do a conversion but I'm somewhat financially limited

Looks good!!! I happen to be good at that! Started a little work today, did a wire tuck up front, relocated side fuse box thingy underneath seat, and started painting some covers flat black. Color scheme is going to be a white and matte black.
Attachment 37623

My plan:
1. CB hornet headlight
2. remove gauges, use gps and hopefully wire a cig lighter in for power
3. Paint frame white, have matte black accents, and repaint fairings matte black to match
4. Ditch fatty yoshi pipe and get a cheap stubby loud as a mofo ebay pipe
5. bar end mirrors
6. possibly the f4 tail

wish me luck this is my first fighter build!

jank how much did you pay for f4 tail seat and light altogether?

JankCibberf2 07-06-2012 09:26 AM

Say around 100 bucks all together

dagg92 07-06-2012 12:36 PM

wow! If I can find a similar deal to that I will most likely be putting the f4 tail on also :)

Hey dagg, I have an F3 that I took a year to strip n rebuild, like yourself I'd never done such work til then. As for the headlight mine's a bit unique; I used a one of my old lids I crashed while wearin in 06 and rigged a pair of projector lamps from a Gilera scooter, kept the visor on the lid, cut off the rear quarter, turned part of it upside down n moulded back onto the rear top of lid to use as a mini screen. Then I fabricated fork brackets with stainless n rubber as well as a small clock holder which also acted as a to headlight stay.
As for indicators, they're a necessary lawful evil in the UK so i fixed mini flashers to the sides of the lid.
My can's a road race from a VTR 1000.
The bike was origionally red but is now black with rainbow metalflake n 2 go faster stripes in mistubishy bronze pearl, frame's gold but not sure I like it now.
As I have no clocks on it, I'm tryin to adapt 98 ZX6R clocks.
Hope this helps. Swingarm is also bronze pearl.
