Default Starting question

Ok I have a '92 f2. When I start the bike up after parking overnight, she doesn't start up normally. Its not cold here, i'm in SoCal, so I don't think that's the problem. Like I can hit the start button all I want...nothing...But as soon as I put the choke on even a little bit, she starts right up, first time everytime..

My first thought or opinion is that maybe its just an older bike? Not enough fuel getting through? I don't think it's the fuel though because when she gets warmed up she sings when she rides, shes perfect, it's just the start ups that have me concerned. I'm just worried if it is a problem and I don't know about it, then I'm gonna go downstairs one day and not be able to start her.

Any suggestions? Or not a problem?

when you say "nothing", do you mean it cranks but wont start or it does nothing, like the button isnt working?

It cranks, I can hear it, but it just sounds like it doesn't "catch" is how I can best describe it..Like only makes the noise. So it doesn't start then shut off because of low idle.. But when I use the choke it starts and I can almost immediately turn the choke off and let it warm up until the idle come up

My 94 CBR 900 does same...when overnight, must pul choke to fire up, then even if choke is pulled, idle settles down when bike is warm up. I don't see anything to be concern about...one time, battery is low but I was not aware of it, pull choke & hit start. Weak battery did not turn over, don't try to push start because bike already on choke...had to push bike back up hill, parked, then taken Gotcbr advice purchase the del tran battery tender off amazon for $22 shipped. Hook it up, few hours, fire her up. So last thing we want is a weak battery.

But I keep my choke on....then doing nothing, then few minutes idle settles down.....even if choke is on.

Mine will idle up to a little over 4 grand if I let it with the choke, but I usually turn it off after like 2 and 1/2 and let it warm up on it's own

I'm so happy with the del tran battery tender....they come with a cable where you can hook up directly to battery, run wire to the glove box, with a safety cap.

So now, when I park bike for 1-2 weeks over....I just open glove box, and plug in....keeps battery fresh & fire right up. Amazing gadget for an old bike!!! I've found amazon to be cheapest....than eBay...harbor freight have some cheap ones for like $10 but does not come with a connector wire to battery...so del tran is spot on.

Sorry...off topic lol...
