Default Starter Switch Assembly.

Hey all,

New the forum, but WOW talk about a wealth of information for my F2!! Unfortunately this past week I've lost the ability to night ride, and well legally ride during the day. My headlight is out. And through electronic testing I've diagnosed that it's one of the wires within the Starter/Stop Switch assembly. My question is where does one to go and purchase one of these, and is their a cheap alternative than the dealership?

It's number 6 on the picture. Thanks again!!

Are you sure it's your whole switch assemblythat's bad? Will the switch start the bike? If the headlight is the only issue, you only need to resolder the brokenwire/wires back on. Easy 5 minute fix...

$100 from Bikebandit.com

I think there is another OEM dealer with slightly cheaper prices but I don't remember the site.

I know it's the wire 'within' the starter switch, and yes it has been re-sloldered, I'm guessing one too many times unfortunately. That was the first thing I did when the headlight went out, since I know it's a common occurance, especially since I've already soldered it again. But I'm thinking there is corrosion, etc on the underside which I can't get to, without taking about the whole switch. So I figured to just get a new one. I mean this one has lasted 15 years, what's another 15 with a new one right?

Thanks Woo! I've found a site online selling it for $80, but was hoping for a slightly cheaper sum. Ah well, we have to pay to play right?

maybe one will become available on ebay.

I'm trying to decide whether to part out my bike or not. Insurance considers it totalled.

Sorry to hear Woo. Great news for me, but not for you. Do you have another bike on order yet?
