Default some performance questions

I have a 92 CBR600F2 and its plunty fast for me but I am just wondering what kind of performance can you do to it? like I know you can get a exhaust slip/on or full, jet kit, and a better air filter but what else can you do to get more performance out of it that does not involve a TON of work? i dont want to do the stuff just wondering...

also what are some of the best bang for the bucks performance wise? or what ones would you do first?

one thing that will make a big differnece in performance is a chain/sprocket upgrade...go -1 in the fron and a +2 in the back with a 520 chain conversion and...WOW!!! huge difference...

did yoshi ever make a full exhaust for the F2? if not is it possible to use say a D&D or 2 brothers full exhaust and use a yoshi slip on? or is a full exhaust worth the money over a slip on?

I know it's not what you want to hear, but as a fellow F2 owner if you're looking for more power and you start looking at things like full exhaust systems and other expensive mods... Save that cash, sell your F2 and buy a newer bike.

Advancements in technology over the years supersede the increase in performance you can get out of our older tired bikes within a certain price limit of course.

Slip on and carb adjustment are good.

Stay with paper air filters.EMGO makes one that is identical to OEM and is only 25 bucks. The airbox is pressurized, and you lose that with high-flow air filters.Only time hi-flow air filters are beneficial are if you have done lots of motor work (cams, head flow,2 mil over etc).

Stay with stock gearing.Learn to ride. It's about seat time.Changing gearing creates less engine life (valve/ring wear). Not worth it IMO.

Manual cam chain tensioner.

520 chain and sprockets.

F3 rear wheel.Bike will turn better, feel more planted and is a cheap mod (75 bucks) and will pop right in.Don't put a 180 on there, bike won't turn worth a squat.

Right now Michelin Pilot Powers are the best street tire.Bike will turn like a dream.

Go to an auto parts store and ask for spark plugs for a 2000 CBR929.Over here we get them at Advance Auto for 29 dollars for a set of four. These yield a cleaner burn, easier starting and better throttle response. And they are cheaper than the standard ones (8 dollars a piece).

hmm, maybe a brand/part number of spark plug would be helpful as well. I'm curious as to what the difference in plugs would be and how they can yield such gains. do share.

Yes, I second elmer's notion. Please share. So other than ordering f2 spark plugs, its more wise to spend 29 dollars on 2000 cbr 929? They fit with no problem?

Yep,they drop right in.Same heat range, same gap.Got them in the streetbike and racebike.

The standard plug is about 8-9 bucks from the dealer, iridiums are 19 each.A complete set of iridiums is 29 from Advance Auto. The iridiums give a cleaner burn and better throttle response.

As always, jetting is crucial. If you jetting is off,get that right first.
