Should I pre-emptively replace the regulator/rectifier?
I've got a 92 F2 with ~18k miles on it, no problems so far. Should I replace the regulator/rectifier to prevent any problems before they happen? I also read somewhere that it can help the bike's ignition performance, though I don't see how that could be true.
I've read the stickey on the R/R and the links for where to buy are broken. Can anyone give me a specific place to buy the R/R?

"Should I pre-emptively replace the R/R?"
Yes.
I just destroyed a brand new Yuasa through overcharging and almost boiling the thing, because I couldn't be bothered to spend five minutes bolting on the pattern (eBay) R/R I had lying around. Mind you, my bike's done 48,000, but I reckon I was starting to get charging problems from 40,000 onwards. Bin your stock R/R.

this is the one everyone is talking about right?

Are there any online 'stores' that sell good ones?
most of the ebay ones seem the same really... It seems like people recommend the 'tour max' but I can never find one of those online...

See, when I asked "What are commmon issues on the CBR600f2" this would be a good one to mention. We should maintain a list of most common issues and their solutions.
In other news, I see where you mounted that rectifier, why not mount it somewhere with more airflow, as that is under the plastics right?

Hah, wow. I pulled off the left rear plastic for checking something else today and noticed a previous owner already put on one of those replacement "tour max" or whatever theyre called R/Rs. If the cam chain starts making noise I'll toss in an APE but so far the valve train is really, really quiet.

Not that im a veteran here or anything but thereyre stickies for the R/R problems and cam chain tensioner problem. I come from owning another honda previously that is also notorious for failing R/Rs and CCTs so knew to look there first.
