I'd say a 750 is too big for a beginner... I started small and it helped me a lot I think

Ex500 Kawasaki was my 1st bike.


As for fairings, finding 600f2 fairings are not easy...but you could do several things depending on the damage:

- are they cracked? can they be plastic welded and fixed?

- you can order some used fairings from ebay

- the f3 fairings also fit on the f2 I heard....also check ebay

 

Stay with the 600, a 750 is a handful of trouble just waiting to happen. IMO. And if you get the 600, ride around in open parking lots for awhile until you get the hang of it... stay out of traffic until you are completely comfortable riding the bike.
