Shorty Exhaust
OK, so I've been eying my exhaust system for a while now, and decided to make a change:
I ran a string of consistent 11.40s Sunday, so I guess I'll see if it helped power next time I go to the track. I love the new sound though, it sounds like a bigger motor when it's idling, feels a little stronger too.

It was actually very easy. Just took some guts to cut the pipe, since I don't have the capability to weld stainless if it didn't work, I would have had to just mig it with mild steel to make it rideable again if it didn't work. The header is 4 into two into one, the two into one is part of the mid pipe and slips onto the 4 into two part, I cut it about 2" behind the rear of the Y, so it's pretty much right on the end of the header. It sounds like a 750 or bigger bike at an idle now. I think I'm gonna shorten the muffler another couple inches and play with some different packing/insulation. The fiberglass in that D&D is sooo tight, I think I'm gonna try some stainless steel packing, I want it just a bit quieter, but throatier, if that makes any sense. Might go ahead and paint it black too.
I didn't lose any ground clearance either, the peg will still hit first, but when my swingarm drops, like going over a bump, it will hit the muffler, that and looks are the reason for shortening up a little more.
