my girl has a 93 f2 that has a problem shifting out of second gear and back 2 neutral at about 6,000 rpm does anyone have this problem and what would the fix be if its not the trans. bike has about 50,000 on the clock at this time runs good other than that.

 

Jumping back into and out of gears unfortunately means it IS the transmission.

Just look at your average F2 Manual and it will tell you the 5-6 possibilitites.

 

Why would you want to shift to neutral at 6KRPMs? Does she blip the throttle?

 

She's not doing it on purpose...the bike is jumping back a gear from 2nd into neutral.

 

2nd gear shift fork... my old bike had the same problem and ALOT of 900RR's are having that problem too..

 

Mine does the same thing. Tryin to find where to get a shift fork to do it myself. I know mine was destroyed cause its a stunt bike and 1st and 2nd gear get the crap kicked out of them. If anyone knows a good place to get a shift fork I would appreciate it. But to moudaddy, it is the shift fork. Mine was the same, jumpin back into neutral right at 6,000 rpms

Can the shift forks be replaced without having to crack open the engine case? I got a nasty clicking/clanging ever since my chain break/wrap around the front sprocket. I'm sure I bent the gear tube rod or the forks are bent.
