just yesterday I finished making the seat lock without the screws.
I will take some pics and show you what I did. although my bike does not have the plastic that goes under the seat (the one that holds the tail light, tag, turning signals etc). but it should give you a good idea.

should have time today.

here is something thats really easy to do, and will only cost you about $15, if not less
i did it on my f3, just make sure you use pretty weak springs, learned that the hard way.

yes, and not if you have, or make, an undertail, then you will have a compartment.
My main reason to it ti mine is that I want to have a helmet lock on the side of the seat instead of next to the tire where it originally comes.

I did something different to the rear end of the seat simply cuz I plan to make an undertail and therefore put a key-lock on it. But I still need to do something similar to the video above so it holds on tigher.

But, without a lock, whats the purpose of all this if you cannot LOCK it ? :s

Great job! that looks very useful.

I do have a question for you, although a lil off topic. Where did you get the two metal cubes you have under the rear cowl.? do you have any idea of the dimensions of them also?
