Question Roll Start?

Read in another post that you can roll start your motorcycle. Does anyone know the concept or how to do this?

Pull in clutch, put in 1st gear, hold clutch in while being pushed or rolling downhill, let out on clutch after you are moving.Dont give it much gas when you do this or you might do a wheelie on accident.

May be overly obvious but the needs to be in and in the on position.

I find 2nd gear to be the safest way. 1st can just lock up your rear tire and cause it to slide.

Battery dead and your stuck in the middle of no where....or you've been working on the bike for hours and the battery is dead when you finish and your pissed because you really wanna test it and your other push start attempts fail so you find a huge hill and your friends push you down it and it still fails because you forgot a vacuum line so your even more pissed since you have to push it back up the hill

I don't think it would help a faulty ignition switch, if the switch is in the off position the bike still cranks over but wont start. Not to mention the ignition is cut if the switch somehow won't turn on. Would help with a faulty starter button though.
