rev limit!!! new here

rev limit!!! new here
i have a 94 cbr 600 and the rev limiter is kicking in at 8000 rpm. this is annoying!! is this normal? and if so how do i change/fix it? any help is greatly appreciated

Definitely NOT normal. Redline on the F2 is 13k.
as far as changing it... You have problems. First you may not be hitting a rev limiter, it could be something much worse. Bad coils, plugs, plug wires. Bad CDI. I had a Del Sol once that wouldn't rev past 3K when it got hot and it turned out to be the Platinum +4 plugs I put in it.
Second, you can't change it. You have to replace the CDI and I seriously doubt anyone put a CDI on there with an 8k rev limit.

thank you, i appreciate the fast feed back. i didn't think that was normal, but i got the bike for a good price...guess i will just take it in and have it looked at. thanks again!
