Default quick carb cleaning?

hey guys, so i've been having some problems with fouling plugs when trying to warm up my bike in the morning, and also a slight fall off in power since i got it. doesn't run terrible, very good actually... but i'm doing a tune up and learned that the previous owner of my bike ran it on ocassion with out the airfilter. i don't have time to really take it apart since i'm going to the gap this weekend, and just wondered what you guys suggest for a quick clean job. with the airbox under the tank i don't see how i could run it with the tank off to get some carb cleaner though it, so what to do....

Default RE: quick carb cleaning?

You could spray carb cleaner directly into the float bowl drains...take phillips screws out of the bottom of the float bowls (4 of 'em) and once the gas is totally gone, use the red plastic hose that comes with the can to direct the spray directly into the hole. Spray it for a good 5 seconds for each float bowl and then leave the plastic straw (still attached to the can) pressed into the float bowl. This will help to hold some of the carb clean in the float bowl and therefore hopefully in contact with the jets. I've had success with this method one time (the only time I tried it) on a single-carb dirtbike, so no guarantee it will work with a sportbike. Good luck!
