Default questions *caution* newb stuff!

ok, so i got my bike 2 days ago and i already ran out of gas on the road *doh!*
this promped me to ask myself several BASIC questions

1. what's the capacity of the gas tank?
2. what kind of gas? i put in 91 just in case =P
3. how many miles before i should start to worry about gas?

answers to these questions would be great (give a man a fish)...
but if someone could send me a link toan owners manual that would be awsome!! (teach a man to fish)

http://hondatech.info/search/Honda/CBR/600/ heres the manual its the 6th one down.......
oh yeah and its free

you have 4.2 gallons on the tank and .79 gallons on reserve... on is downand reserve is up left is off.. keep it on "on" and when the bike bogs switch to reserve and haul ***** to a gas station... each bike is different on mileage so just keep re-setting the trip when you fill up and you will know the mileage then

on my F3 when I got to about 130miles on my trip odometer i started looking for a gas station. Still had about a gallon but would rather be safe than sorry.

Same with me. Before I split the carbs on my f2 I was getting 140ish before I would decide to fill up. Usually hadn't even hit reserve yet.

Now I get like 120...I need to get the carbs synched badly.

there's a reserve?!! omg, that means i didnt have to walk to the gas station that night!? hahaha, i heard some sloshing in the tank but it wouldnt turn over. all i had to do was flip a switch. i guess i deserve it for joy riding all day and not knowing anything.

thanks for all this info!!

yeah, funniest part is that it happened at a low point in the road where every direction is uphill AND it started to rain. this is my 2nd day on the bike too.

The worst part will come when you KNOW you have a reserve, begin to run out of gas and realize you forgot to turn your switch from reserve back to on the last time you filled up... which means you really are out of gas...

Both of my bikes have been repainted.....reserve is up right? Down is on, and left is off? Same for f2 and f3?
