Petcock question
Quick question, my petcock is leaking and it looks like it is coming from the riveted section where the **** for the fuel switch is and not from the diaghram area.Question is, is this possible or could it still be from the diagphram on the other end?
Thanks in advance

RE: Petcock question
First ya gotta find out for sure where it's leaking from and go from there.
Take your tank off and get a light under it, dry off the petcockand see if you can find where it's leaking from.
If you're not sure, just take it all apart and put it back together again, make sure everything is where it should be and it shouldn't leak right?
Might want to try using some very light gasket sealer on the parts that seal up together.
I'd have to have it in my hands to fix it, that's the best I can think of

RE: Petcock question
yeah i took the whole thing out and unscrewed it yadda yadda, jb welded that sucker in all the creases so i think its leaking for sure from the riveted section. I really dont want to but a new one since it does work just leaks. I am thinking some of that permatex or whatever it is they seal gas tanks with is next. i think thats what i gotta do lol.

RE: Petcock question
Mine wasn't leaking, it wouldn't shut off. I am replacing it with an F3 (non-vacuum) petcock. Some people on here say it won't work without a fuel pump but there is no more resistance to air being blown/sucked through it than the F2 unit so I don't think there will be a problem. I have promised to report how well it works as soon as I get everything back together. Of course it may take a while, my riding season doesn't start for atLEAST 30 more days. and then it's a crap shoot.

RE: Petcock question
CBR13F2, just replace it...
tazshido, yes it will work. Just seal the vacumm hose from the carb...the vacumm petcocks are pretty expensive, but the others are reasonable. I replaced mine and took a golf tee, with a clap and sealed the line. Everything works like champ...

RE: Petcock question
ok so if my half azzed sealing job doesnt hold up can i be 100% sure that a non vacuum f3 petcock with work once the vacuum line is plugged? will there be any difference even on a close to empty tank? i just want to make 100% sure so if anyone has done this and noticed NO difference, please post up!
Thanks again for the responses!
