Default Newbie looking for fun =]

Hey guys.
I'm a new rider fresh outta MSF. My roomate owns a 02 gixxer 1000, and I simply think that bike is way to much for me! I really like the 600 class, and I found a pretty decent deal on a mint F2 CBR 600.

What do yall think as far as power, acceleration, comfort, overall handeling and reliability?

This is going to be my commuter vehicle, really its a toy I am justifying as a commuter =]

I've had my F2 for about a year and a half and couldn't be happier. I commute on mine, as well as travel and trackdays. I've never felt that it didn't have enough power. The handling and reliability are also great.

F2's dominated the race tracks when they were introduced!! So, Honda had something right with it. I've had mine over a year, and, it is an amazing bike. As to comfort, it has the most comfortable seat I've ever sat on for a sportbike! I also can't complain with the bikes power. If you're looking for a first bike that'll double as a daily commuter and toy, I'd def get the F2!! You won't be dissapointed.

Just out of curiosity, what year, miles, and price? See what kinda deal you're getting

Oh yeah, WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!

excellent choice for a commuter bike. when i got my RR i wished i had my old f2 back to commute because it was so much more comfortable. it was also fast enough to hang with the newer bikes too. have fun and be safe.

let's see... great price, no monthly payments, cheap insurance, great performance, great reliability, 45mpg, and the ability to outride the new bikes if you know how to use it.

Yeah I love my F2.

Let us not forget the most forgiving chassis on the planet.

If you buy a nice one, you will never ever regret it. I honestly wish Honda would bring the F2/F3 back as beginner sport. Price is about what Suzuki sells that crappy Katana for and you'd sell a million of them. Especially since a new RR is up near 9k and the F4i's aren't much cheaper, theres room in the lineup for sure!

Not to repeat my post from another thread, but I've run a multiline motorcycle shop for years. I've had damn near every sportbiek made in some form or fashion (41 bikes in 11 years). My first bike was a 1993 F2 that I rode for 31k miles. The bike I deliberately sought out and bought last Sunday was a mint condition 1993 F2.

My first and favorite.

I am going today at lunch to look at the 91 F2. It is mint! Prior owner put around $5k into the bike between a $2k exhaust, new fairings etc. Heres a pic
