New F2 owner, silly question about pillion seat cover.
Hi guys.
I picked up a 1993 bike last night, cost me all of £1000. It's pretty immaculate looking, the odd stone chip here and there, but to be expected from a 17 year old bike.
Anyway, it came with a seat cover on the back seat. I slid it off backwards, but it doesn't seem to want to go back on the same way. Is it a seat off job?
This is her:

Thanks
Conan

Thanks
Went out for my first proper ride on it this evening, I need to fiddle with a few things here and there, but over all I am very happy with it.
It looks extremely clean under all the plastics (or at least from what I can see), as though somebody has had it apart and tidied it all up.
Seems a shame that I am going to use it right through this winter
but I guess bikes are meant to be ridden after all.
A little off topic but how obvious is the dieing CCT sound? I can hear a very faint rattle when I accelerate, it does it at all revs and doesn't go away when the bike warms up. To be honest it just sounds like a normal enginey sort of sound to me, but after reading through the amount of people that have had the CCT die, I am feeling a little paranoid about it!

Put your ear down where that small removable fairing is on the right side (you can see the hole in your photo) and if you hear a sound like "nails shaking in a paint can" then your CCT is on the fritz. It's a really easy fix. Two bolts and it's off. The recommended replacement is:

Other noises include the clutch plates on the lower left, but that's normal and easily distinguishable because it disappears when you pull the clutch in. Also, you may hear some valve noise on the top of the engine just under the handlebars.

Just keep looking, to be honest I wasn't set out to get a CBR, or any bike in particular, this helped my chances of finding a good deal by quite a bit. I missed out on a Suzuki RF900 the day before I got this, although after a few days riding I can tell you it was a blessing in disguise.
It is 5 years older than the ZZR600 I had before, but puts it to shame in /almost/ every single way.
Not all is well though, that rattle doesn't sound like the CCT, off to make a new thread I go.

I suppose I need to broaden the search. I'd set my sites on an CBRF2. On my budget and the age I'm buying at condition is all. I'd rather have an older bike that's well cared for than a much later untidy one. I can't do anything mechanically so I need something without problems.
