Default "New" CBR...

Hey guys, one of my friends' brothers had a '92 CBR 600. He layed it over in a crash. Didn't feel even bother to try and fix it, so he gave it to me. There wasn't too much damage to it (other than the flaring and the tail lights and the footpegs). He didn't ride it since the crash (which was like 3 months ago). He also said that it was running after he crashed it. I tried to crank it, but nothing happened. Then, I tried to bump start it. It went for like 2 seconds then bogged out. Do you think it could be the battery or maybe he messed up the idle settings? Also, how is the fuel petcock for these bikes? There is no markers that tell you where the "ON", "OFF", and "RES" are for the tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Check the battery -- most bikes won't run with a dead battery.
