NEW To it ALL PLEASE HELP
okay so im new rider, so please take it easy on me, and i have checked the forums some but cant find a good answer, so dont tell me to check i have.
first this is my first bike, and i have had it about a month, rode maybe 200 miles, its so not a new bike, its a 1994 Honda CBR600 F2. with around 23,xxxmiles.
im a military vet, and i have done alot of my own work on cars before for years. so im not dumb dumb when it comes to working on things, bikes are a little different i have found out.
so i got my bike and like many i started doing things to it, i got a intergrated LED tail light. and removed that stock crap to make it more slick. everything worked fine for a few days, i took the bike to the dealer to be serviced. everything fine, about 30 miles riding after the dealer had the bike, i lost power while slowing down going up hill. passing a car and man on the side of the road, as i tried to get back on it i noticed the lost of power, i pulled over and the bike shut off...
i tried to restart it with nothing happening, i shut everything off and tried again... nothing.
i noticed a very very faint buzzing almost noise.
after about two mins or so it stopped.
i had the bike taken back to my house where i started checking, i noticed when i turn the key no lights what so ever would come on.
i checked the fuses, ALL of them, and replaced ALL of them. i also replaced the Ignition Relay under the seat that has the 30amp fuse.
still nothing!
i have a Voltage Regulator on the way, but i was wondering what if anything else it could be! its getting warmer out and im pissed that i cant ride! please help!

Have you checked the rectifier? Its one of the first things to give out on these bikes man. Check if its the stock one. Just remove the right tail fairing, it should be bolted to the subframe.
Just google cbr f2 rectifier and there should be tons of pics on that topic.
check out this thread man, keep going thru the pages and see if you have the same problems these other people posted. if its the stock rectifier it most likely is junk already, bad thing is it will take the battery with it also so you will also need a new one.

The regular and rectifier are one unit, so hopefully thats what you got... my money is on that is friend. New battery? Did you test the battery? Did you do the LED tailight yourself? If so, are you experienced with these things? I've seen some pretty bodged jobs from guys who think they know what they are doing.
Yea I have a voltage regulator/ rectifier on its way, I bought the LED tail light online, I'm pretty good at the whole wiring this, used but connectors with heat shrink and black tape over that.
I guess I'm just worried that its gonna be coils or stator as well.
But you say my battery well be shot as well?!? Well damn headed to autozone. Hopefully my part will be here soon I got a aftermarket one like everyone said to get
Is there anything I can do to make sure it stays cool other then mounting it right back on the frame in place of the old one?

Im more than sure that it's your rectifier man. On the battery topic, my battery gave out when my rectifier did so I bought a new one as well. My friends 636 did the same.
Thing is that when your rectifier was on its last leg, it overcharged it, or didnt pass any charge at all, but overcharging is more common.
If you bought the same one then its gonna do the same thing. There are different routes to make a swap over to a better one. You have 2 easy ways of doing, its either a stock with cooling fins, found on ebay. Or an 03-04 gsxr1000 rectifier. I went with the gixxer rec and I mounted it under the seat, so that its more exposed to air under there. Goodluck

Yea I got one with the cooling fins cost about $70 shipped should be here today so hopefully that works! I might get a new battery too!
It all just seemed a little weird that I'd get no power no lights no nothing when I turn the key just because of that little box! Hopefully everything works this time! Thanks guys!

Yea it looks a little on the old side! I was just talking to my buddy about it and he was telling me a few places to get one so I think that's gonna be something I do as well!
I just hope when I plug this in it fires up lol

So just as everyone thought it was the voltage regulator rectifier, and whoever mentioned it, you were right killed te battery as well!
So got a new battery and fired right up! Started installing my HID kit, and no **** the HIDs don't work! FML

Glad you got it fixed man. As Ive seen before the rectifier always screws the battery over. It overcharges it and causes it to fail.
On the HID topic, I wire mine directly to the battery with a switch to the cluster and it works real good.
