Default Need a little help with adjusting idle speed...

'94 CBR keeps stalling out at idle after a stop, even stalled out during a downshift. I've got a service manual, but I'm still pretty new to doing my own maintenance, especially on a bike that's new to me. Am I going to work with the pilot screw or the throttle stop screw, or something else entirely? Or is there anything else I should know before proceeding? TIA.

Dunno. Like I said, the bike is new to me.

Check Plugs
Check resistances on wires and coils
Clean carbs
Sync carbs
Adjust idle screws.

Yeah, you need to work on a few things before something like that would be fixed by a simple idle adjustment. I'd follow Woo's list though I'd probably skip the resistant checking, and get the carbs cleaned up before worrying about a sync. A bike should still run if the carbs are pretty out of sync. Otherwise, the idle adjustment should be on your left rearward of the fuel valve **** on the side of the bike.

Um yeah, after taking a good portion of the bike apart and putting it back together (anyone know where these two extra screws go??? stupid fairings & cowls), I notice the little idle adjustment **** on the side of the bike exactly where you said it would be. Tweaked that a bit and voilĂ ! She's runnin' good as new.

I stopped back by the dealership where I got my oil & coolant the other day & sat on the '08 CBR600... and started drooling. Weighs at least 100 lbs less than my '94.

Dang.
