The F3 petcock works just fine on the F2. As a matter of fact, I am running an F3 petcock AND an in-line filter without a pump and it still screams. No fuel flow problems here.

I have been very happy with my F3 petcock. Works like a charm. Besides, I cant STAND a vacuum petcock. they are expensive and take the control away from the rider. Like everything else these days it's designed to let the owner be lazy.

I run an F3 petcock on my F2 as well. I could not find a new one for an F2 and the F3 part only cost me $53.00 plus a buck for a hose clamp. They are a direct fit, all you need to do is plug the vacuum port coming from cylinder #1 that provided the vacuum for the original petcock.

[:@]I am not counting the cost of 2 gallons of fuel that dumped on the ground when my back was turned because I did not have the new petcock switched to off and I was cutting a new piece of fuel line to install. That made me think about any future fuel line disconnect from a bump in the road, or a crash,so I added a stainless steel hose clamp.

Stainless steel clamps can be tightened without stripping. They cost more, but you get............... yada yada yada.

what if there is a tear in the diaphram?
and what are the side effects to having an f3 petcock without the vac line outlet on an f2 with the vac line?

There is your problem, up is reserve, forward is off, and down is on!

Just figured I'd add my experience. I took a chance last year and bought a chinabay f2 petcock for like 20-25 dollars, been working great, came with new filter. I haven't had an issue with it at all. Just an option instead of rebuilding.

For all the folks who say they don't build one please don't click on this link petcock kit that doesn't exist

Please don't research this Genuine Honda part number 16953-MBZ-B51

Please don't ask me about how I used this kit to replace the internal diaphragm, spring, cover plate, etc.

Apparently I did this all in a dream...
