more brake problems
hello again guy's...some of you may have read a post last week about my bike using EBC discs and some pads that were very high metal content and they were welding themselves to the rotors if I never rode the bike for a couple of days...well I have changed the pads to more conventional ebc kevlar pads and I am having a nightmare...first of all the pads are tight against the disc even when the pistons in the calipers are fully pressed in ( the calipers are in exellent condition by the way!!!) so the wheel binds a fair bit....I thought it would loosen up if I took it out for a short ride but its still the same....the discs are not genuine honda (ebc) could this be why they dont fit?...should I take some material off the pad surface? (I can have access to a sanding machine to keep them level)....and to add to my woes I have noticed a noise coming from the front of the engine which sounds like one of the exhaust headers blowing but there is no smoke coming from them (its very cold and easy to spot exhaust leaks)...could it be the camchain tensioner? Im going to strip the bodywork off tommorrow if the weather is ok.....any help appreciated folks....Im on a bit of a downer with these problems...I HATE BRAKE PROBLEMS!!!!!!
I have finally sanded a little off the standard ebc pads and they seem to be working ok but I now have the exhaust leak problem to sort......the leak seems to be coming from where the flange presses onto the gasket (my bike has a micron stainless system) and the downpipes are a sleeve fit on these flanges....I will have to find them either from micron direct or a breakers....sigh!!!
