Ok, so I think I blew my head gasket but I'm not sure. I started my bike up and the second cylinder spark wire kept coming off. It would pop off and I would turn my bike off and reseat it. Well, I put it back on and held it down with my hand and my bike made a loud pop and a puff of smoke appeared. I instantly turned the bike off and gave it a once over. Nothing seemed to have happened from what I could see so I tried to start it again. It cranks but no start. Don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be a god sent. Please help!

 

Your head gasket is fine.
Did it blow the spark plug out? A loose plug can leak pressure and blow the wire off. Eventually, the plug will come out. If your lucky, it may still have threads to screw to plug back in. If not, helicoil time...

 

Yea, I was just about to post I thought it may be the plug and/or wire. I was told when I first bought the bike that he thought the wires needed replaced so I'm going to do that when my local bike shop opens Monday and I'll let you know how it goes.

 

I'm pretty new to working on motorcycles but should the gap of the plug be this shallow?

gap should be .03 to .04in

 

Yes. I put my finger in there and I could wiggle it very easily.

Check the threads in the head. They probably took quite a beating.

 

I tried screw the plug back in but it doesn't want to match up. Am I going to have to pull the engine and rip it apart or is there something else I can do?

 

You should be able to put a helicoil in with out removing or taking apart the motor. If you have never done this, or are intimidated to try, take it to a shop. It may be cheaper to take it in due to the high cost of the helicoil kit. A shop will have one already and just charge you for labor plus the insert. Do a search and see what you think of the process then decide.
