Default Lowering question

My girlfriend has a '94 f2 and is VERY short. I lowered it 1" in the rear using one of those lowering links with the 1" and 3" settings that is all over fleabay. Unfortunately the lower of the 2 settings will not work. I have a shock from a '98 f3 that I tried to use in conjunction with the link because I heard that would bring it down another inch but it didn't. It actually raised it back to nearly stock height. I have the preload set as low as I can and I have shaved the seat and she still can't touch the ground very well. She can reach and is able to ride but it would help a lot if I could get the rear down a little more.

Anyway, my question is, does anyone know of a lowering link that will lower the rear 2 inches and where I can get one? I'm looking for an answer from someone that knows for sure. The advertising forlink I have now claims that you can use the 3" setting but you cannot.

Thanks

Actually, after trying the '98 f3 shock, I went rightback to the original. I was misinformed as to the f3 shock lowering it. The bike never moved with the f3 shock.

Have you tried lowering the front at all too? If you just loosen the triple clamps you can slide the forks up a couple inches, that would probably help with the height, as well as being closer to stock geometry relative to the lowered rear. If that doesn't work I'd be looking for a ninja 500/250.

Yes, I have the front down about 1 3/4". I have room to go a little more but the front alone doesn't change the seat height much. I realy need to get the rear down an additional 1/2-1" (total drop: 1 1/2-2") There's really no need to change bikes, as she can (and does) ride this one. It would just be better if she could touch a little more solid.

This is the lowering link i have on my bike and both heights work on mine. Why doesn't yours work, is there somthing in the way? Does it hit? Little more info would be helpful.

I don't have it on now, I took it off because i scraped whenever I would hit the twists a little too hard. tore up the bottoms of my lower fairings. I just used it when drag racing after that.

That's the same one I have. On the lower setting the shock itself hits the mounting bracket even before the hole for the lower setting is lined up with the bracket.

Mine looks just like that one, I don't have it on the lowest setting but I just went and looked at it and I don't think it would go there on mine either, the shock would hit the pivot bracket before it would line up with the lower hole. If you relieve (notch) thepivot a little bit, it might go, but you also need room for compression. Obviously, if you notch it, you will remove a bit of strength, but that looks to be a pretty stout piece anyway. I think the footnotes on some of these links actually say that you can't use the lowest settings on some bikes, and now I see why.

Thats the only problem I've noticed with mine but it only happens when I hit a dip on the road, how much weight will it take to hit? I mean, can I ride with a passanger? (typical girl) NO FAT CHICKS lol
