so whats the dealeo with the tank. My friend has a '93 F2 and I noticed he has a metal tank unlike my '05 1k. Is this just a slipcover that fits over the stock tank?

shodog, that's just a cover that will go over the stock tank. that's how all of these aftermarket jobs are.

your 1K has a metal tank, it is just under the plastic covering you're talking about. DOT probably wouldn't allow plastic/fiberglass tanks on road-going motorcycles.

Thanks for the reply. My buddy wants to switch out his plastics for something different. I've switched out the plastics on my 1KRR so I'm familiar with the tank cover on it, I was unsure how it worked with plastics for the F2. when I redid the plastics on my Katana, it's didn't come with a tank cover so I eneded up painting it to match
