Default A little help please

Hi , I'm new to this forum. I wanted to say Hello to everybody and ask for somehelp cause Im running out of ideas. I have a 94 f2 , I bought it 3 weeks ago thinking that it was a good deal. Well it wasn't . I replaced the battery and the rectifier because the bike just died on me. The rectifier fried the battery. After I changed it I thought its going to get better, the is running but it stops when it wants to. Yesterday I started this beast by runing with it, after that it was running good and started ok.Also my headlight bulb turn out in a matter of 30 min. I don't know if it has anything to do with it. Anyway I will check the wiring but did anybody experience something like that, or do you have any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Patricia

First thing you'll need to do is buy a multimeter so you can trace wiring and see how much voltage is getting sent to the battery or if voltage is getting to certain parts of the bike. I'd do that and then download a service manual and print out the schematic so you can look for and trace the wires.

could be a bad stator, the previous owner could have known that it was going and didnt want to pay that much for a new one.. or you got a bad R/R

check your ground wire on the starter too. did you fully charge the new battery before hooking it up to the bike? (remember they start to charge the battery over 5,000 RPM's)

Once I got the new rectifier the voltage seemed to be fine.
Do you know what would make the rectifier so hot ?

My friend charged the battery for I don't have the charge so I would say its fully charged.

the regulator will be very hot, it should be that way..that is how it disipates un-needed energy.. by air cooling and grounding on the frame..

My 91 was doing the same exact thing when I bought it. dude only wanted 900.00 bucks for it. So I had to get it. But the only thing that caused that was a dead cell in battery. I changed the battery and Ive been riding it ever since. So another thing to look at.
