How would I go about doing this? Thought it would be easy (few bolts) but it looks like i'd need to pull off the whole front fender to get to it? Insight please!

There are two things you need to do to get the windscreen out:

1. You have to take off the mirrors.
Pull back the rubber sleeving and unscrew the two bolts.

2. Remove the two small curved decorative plastics.
There is one located on either side, retained by a single philips head screw.
These are located on the inside of the windscreen, directly behind the mirror mounting points.

Once you have done this, the windcreen should come out easily.

 

Yeah you need to take off a couple fairing boltson upper and peel back fairing a bit below the windscreen and slide it out, of course after the mirrors and neccesary bolts are off, no need for removing fairing!

 

Sweet. Maybe tomo morning i'll take it off and paint it like i've been planning.
