Default Hose Location.

Hello Everyone.

New to the forum and Hondas and need a little help.

I have just purchased a '93 F2 and I did a carb cleaning on it as it was running just horrible.

I put everything back together and it runs much better.

But I did have 1 large about 1/2 to 3/4 inch hose coming from the bottom of the airbox.

It's hard to get a good photo but it's at the top of this post.

I'm also including a few shots of how dirty the carbs were.

Can someone let me know where this large hose goes to or if it just gets capped off.

Thank you very much!

Chris

I'd like to say that that is a vent tube and isn't attached to anything. Not 100% though from that pic.

id say thats a drainage hose for any moisture that may be in your airbox

It attaches from the middle of your carbs and goes into that little filter box on the bottom of the air box. point the hose the other way, you should see where it goes. heres a pic.

actually, upper right of your 2nd picture and lower right of your 4th picture is the dark tube you attach the hose to.

Post #4 is exactly what I was trying to get a shot of.

And I see now it's backwards and I'm going to have to take the gas tank off to get to it I believe. (It's a pretty tight spot and I just filled the tank up. Blaaahh!)

Sorry for the horrible photo.

Had to use an old Samsung 1.0 megapixel with no flash.

My Panasonic piece of junk digital camera decides when it wants to function.

Constantly says replace batteries even though they're brand new.

What is the purpose of this hose if you don't mind me asking?

The bike runs much much better even without it hooked up but I don't want to ride it much without it attached.

Can't see it on the service manual for some reason.

Thank You!

those are relatively clean carb bowls compared to what mine looked like, hahah. also, with that much rust in the carbs you might want to check your gas tank to make sure it's not rusted in side.
