Honda's revised Cam Chain Tensioner?
Has anyone heard of Honda's revised cam chain tensioner? I called the Honda dealership to see if they carried a cam chain tensioner, and the guy in parts notified me that honda puts out a newly revised cam chain tensioner for 60$. I am wondering if this is a better bet than the aftermarket cam chain tensioners. If anyone has or knows someone who has used the Honda part drop a reply.

RE: Honda's revised Cam Chain Tensioner?
I think tonight, after a hard stall on my bike (from a friend.... ) the chain tensioner on my bike is starting to let go. Its giving off a really loud noise at cold starts and the motor is having a tough time turning on even.
I've never changed this chain tensioner, is it hard? '91 F2...

I've never changed one either, but it looks simple enough... i think the most important thing is to get it "tensioned" correctly or you could really F-up your day.
Here is a write up from an F4.. it will give you an idea of whats involved. good luck, take your time, don't rush it.

RE: Honda's revised Cam Chain Tensioner?
Well, reading that guide it looks freaking simple.. my friend with a gixxer600 was talking about having to remove gas tank, airbox, cylinder heads.. etc.. If its just on the side of the motor and held on with two bolts I am laughing. Can anyone confirm if this is the same procedure as the F2 motor?
