Help Please
I don't know if anyone on here my be able to help, bu my CBR is acting up. The past couple of days I have had problems with it starting up, no matter the choke position. The plugs were all soaked with fuel so I put new ones in and still no change. Also, as I am going down the interstate, when my RPMs have been up at cruising speed, the bike slowly looses power and then dies. It doesn't want to start back up until after it sits for a while. I am thinking possibly the coil. Any thoughts or suggestions??? Thanks!!!

RE: Help Please
Take the carbs off and have them cleaned throughly. If it still floods go in this order:
[ol][*]Re-Jet[*]Check the floats[*]Check float needles[/ol]
And if that does not work, I do not know the how to fix it. I have the same problem and I am on step 3. My new needles will be in beginning of next week.

Well, I believe the choke is turned off, but I am not 100% positive. I know you are supposed to push the choke towards you to turn it off, but how far. It easily moves up until the white line gets thicker. Are you supposed to push it further than that....as far as it can go?

RE: Help Please
Well from your first post...if your plugs are wet with fuel...or fuel fouled...then it would be an ignition problem...plugs, wire, or maybe even electrical (if your battery were dying)...
but after your last post it seems you are using the choke...exactly backwards. All the way turned up...or towards the fromt of the bike is OFF...towards the rider is ON and opened more as the line gets thicker.
Try riding with the choke certainly in the off position and post if it still dies...Too much air could have choked it out after the engine warmed up...maybe too the point of flooding the plugs...
Here is what I do in TN. I start my bike with the choke on...all the way. In about 2 minutes the engine idle climbs noticeably and I turn the choke off. Then, I get on and ride.
