Help with carb shutters.

you are either talkimg about the butterfly valves that open and close with the throttle twist... Or you are talking about the vacuum pistons that react to the forced air entering the carb and move the jet needle in and out of the needle jet... Either way, clarification is required before anyone will be able to help

thanks. i guesse they are butterfly valves. throttle slides is what i thought they were, any how when when i twist the throttle (with every thing off so i am loking into the carbs,w/ bike running) only the 2 on the right open. they seem to be vaccum powered. the bike will still tach out to 14k in neutral but on the road it only gets up to 90mph. shouldnt this bike do more like 150mph ?

your butterfly is the throttle plates and they are gold and move as you turn the throttle when the bike is on or off, they allow air into the engine.
Are you talking about these or your sliders? The sliders are black and have a needle sticking out of them, and move faster while the bike is revved up and yes, are affected by vacuum.
