I would recommend an actual "Helmet Cam".

This is what we use for all our track days and some "stunting" ( if you would call it that). Works GREAT. Get a tape style recorder (8mm) and put it in a fanny pack, run the lines up through your jacket and out to your helmet. Otherwise we mount the recorder in the trunk and run the lines under the body work to the dash where it is mounted looking through the windshield. The helmet mount is clearer, but both kick ***. Good luck. Take the time to tape any lines together so they stay that way and wont pull out. (We figured this out the hard way)

I use ChaseCam's for Autocrossing, they work wonders!

Actually since that mount is only $40 and I already have all the camera equipment, I might have to get myself one of these guys.

I have been using a unit called twenty20 cam.

It's small easy to use and the price was under 2 bills and it plugged right into my Sony Handy Cam.

There is nothing better than watching summer rides in the dead of winter !!

Good luck and here is the link to 20/20 camera.
