Lightbulb Going from '92 CBR600F2 to '96 Kawasaki ZZR1100/ZX-11R?! Your thoughts.

I have been riding a CBR600F2 for 4 years now. Love the bike, just thought it would be fun to try something different.
I know the Kawasaki will be quite a bit faster in a straight line, but I'm unsure what other changes I should expect.

Anybody have experience with both of these bikes?

Would the handling be considerably worse on the ZX-11R because of the 100+lbs weight increase?

I bought the F2 for $3200 Canadian 4 years back. The Kawasaki is selling for $5k with New tires, chain sprockets, & was serviced spring 2009.

Vs. The ZX-11R

The ZX-11 is a much bigger bike obviously, handling will probably be slowed considerably... Would they let you test ride the bike?

Personally I would stay with Honda over Kawasucky, it depends on what kind of bike you want.

If you bought the ZX,would you keep the CBR also?If yes,go 'head and get it.

I wouldn't ditch the CBR for the ZX.Kawi's build quality isn't NEAR what Honda's is.

For only a little more, you can get a CBR1100xx,and that's a WAY better ride than the ZX.

I can't comment on the handling or performance aspects other than the 'saki will be faster in a straight, which you know already.

I think the F2 looks a lot better though.

The Kawasaki will definitely feel alot heavier. I agree with the other posts about quality, I have a ZX-14 with under 3500 miles, and my radiator hose came loose while driving spilling my coolant all over the highway. This is my first honda and I love it, much more fun to drive on the twisty roads plus nothing has fallen apart yet.

If you like riding the twisties, then don't do it. The ZX-11 is going to feel like a box van compared to your F2. If you like cruising the highways though or plan on taking some longish trips, then you might really enjoy the Kawi. I think you'd enjoy a CBR1100XX far better though.
