Default GAS...idk

K so i was under the impression that my 1993 Honda F2 ran on 91/92 octane. But after reading some posts, people are putting in 87 octane. IDK so someone please clarify

Book says 87, In my experience, my bike runs a whole lot cleaner on 92-93. I only put the supreme in. Its cheaper to fill then the cars by a long shot so its not to big of a deal.

I run premium fuel only...Figure @.20 cents more a gallon to fill the tank doesn't really break the bank...and will probably save an engine rebuild down the line.

dont know about your bike, but mine has a spec sticker on the frame, behind the left side seat fairing, that gives spark plug specs, timing and a minimum 91 octane rating

Mine's happier with 87... dont need Premium unless you're constantly hammering on it (racebike)

Manual says 87 is fine but 87 isn't working that good if you are doing 12k rpms. Also, carbs and engines get tuned over time. If the fuel in the tank when the carbs were last tuned was 92 then it will run best with that type gas.

For example, my bike runs rough with 87 but runs like a racehorse with Sunoco Ultra 94. Idle is in the correct range at that octane rating as well.
