Question Fuel additives?

You know how stores have fuel additives that you add to your tank? I know these are safe for most cars but what about our bikes? Would it be okay to add ones that cleaned carbs? I dont want to add it and end up fing my baby up. Thanks for any input

that stuff is not a miracle in a bottle. if you have a major carb issue it wont solve it by pouring that in the tank. but it will help maintain a clean fuel system and prevent build up from forming as fast. but is not the ultimate solve-all.

just remember that 12oz(i think) bottle is made to mix to the correct proportions in a full size tank, 20 gal maximum i think. so remember to adjust accordingly to the size of your tank. dont pour the entire contents of a bottle into your bike tank. just wasting it.

one more thing to check.... not sure if there is a difference between carb systems and FI systems when it comes to adding that stuff. i would check with the guy at the store to make sure you buy the correct type.

check the label as well, double checking never hurts.

If your trying to keep up on the carbs. Just use some sea foam and pour it in there every so often. If you ride your bike a lot varnish build up shouldn't form that quick. Buddy has a CB175 and a Mini bike both bikes are from the 70's. Haven't had a good carb clean in years or if ever. Just keep up on it will serve you good.

Every auto store carry's it. Its been used since the 60's. You can use it for carbs and gas. Makes a world of difference I have always felt. Being a mechanic and owning 5 cars plus a bike. Never had any fuel issues with any of them so far. I use it in my lawn mores too
