I odn't really have an answer for you but I wanted to mention that I ehard on our 92's (or F2's in general?) some modifications had to be made to install them. In particular it looks like on the right-hand side of the bike.

Anyone have a definititve answer on that?

You have to drill holes in the lower fairings.

What kinda did you get, and what kind does everyone recommend? I was thinking about picking some cheap ones up on ebay, but was worried about their quality, because I am pretty sure I am going to use them at least once.

avoid the "no cut" sliders and you should be fine with whatever you choose. These mount to the lower engine mounting bold on the down "arms" from the front of the frame.

Which can take more of a beating High-Density Delrin or 6061 billet aluminum? I did a google and it didn't help much.

delrin will give in to lateral stress, while aluminum will not have any flex and possibly break off a motor mounting bolt or bend to the side making it impossible to remove the bolt from it. i have seen several aluminum sliders on the GSXR's bend and need ALOT of work to get them off without tearing up the frame or motor mounts. delrin all the way for me.

So if derlin will give to lateral force do, will it only provide protection for a 0mph tip over (aka me in the garage). Or will it give some protection for a slide?

thanks for the input,
Dan

My sliders hardly stick out at all...so I am only counting on minimal fairing protection.

Then again they're to protect the frame, not the fairings.

And will they protect you in a slide? It all depends on the crash.

im saying they have SOME flex to them. enough so that they wont bend and break off the bolts in a low speed slide. NO frame slider will protect your bike after a certian speed. tip overs and slow slides are what they protect against. typically the occasional "oopsie" crash/fall
