Default fairing ?

ok so im getting ready to do a full custom paint job on my bike and my fairings are in decent shape all original colors. should i attempt to sell them whole as a set and buy mismatched plastics or say screw it and strip the ones i have.

well if you decide to sell, then ill be more than happy to take them off your hands. my fairings have had a unhappy run in with the sides of my trailer when i was hauling it yesterday.(damn frost on the trailer) i love those colors too.

o and if you did sell them to me i can send you the fairings that i have. only the uppers are damaged.

Depends on what you think you can sell yours for and what it will cost you to buy a new set in decent shape. And the extra time it will take to sell yours and get a new set, If your impatient like me I'd just go ahead and paint them. Personally I think it's going to cost the same to get a set in decent shape as you will make selling yours. I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle, but it's up to you.

Oh, and what kind of color scheme are you going with???

Unless you're gonna go with race plastics or an ebay type kit I'd strip the ones you got. Better the devil you know, eh? Start ordering up bits here and there and you'd be surprised how much "like new" varies from person to person

i got some house of kolor bue pearl for the main color and going to have some airbrushed grafixs on the sides not sure what exactly yet il figure that out when i get the blue on. probably will just use mine the bike is already striped sitting in my kitchen

sounds good, hope it turns out good, Do you do the airbrushing yourself, or do you know someone who does?

o no i cant do all that i have no artistic talent thinking of designs makes me think i have no imagination anymore either lol. actually i am not gonna be spraying any of it except maybe the primer my buddy is the painter at the shop i work at and he wants to get some practice and maybe drum up a little side buisness so we are doing my bike and its only costing me material price which is still going to be around 400 but for what we have in mind that isnt ****.

gotcha. whats $400? just the paint?

And if he has some good airbrushing skills, who knows. Might take the decals off and have him do my tank.

ya thats adhesion promoter, surfacer, sealer, black base, blue pearl, intercoat clear, whatever other colors i need for the graffics then the clear. also sand paper, masking paper, tape. and let me know if you want to have some work done MBU il get you in touch with him
