RE: F3 Shock in the F2 (yet again)
I have been messing with different shocks, dogbones, and bellcranks(the piece that goes between the shock and dogbone and is bolted to the swingarm). Between buying a 95' F3 shock, my original 94' F2 shock and now I just got a 02' F4i shock. I have 4 different dogbones, 3 original and one lowering link, 3 different bellcranks and 3 different shocks. For all your information, the biggest difference between the years is the length of the dogbones and the design of the bell crank. I can take some pics if people want me too. Right now I have an extended swingarm (which raises the tail) with the F3 shock and the F2 bellcrank and the lowering link set at 1.5" drop. I think that the shock is a little wore out, so I got the F4i shock and we will see what happens.

RE: F3 Shock in the F2 (yet again)
I have just finished doing a little research on this issue. Here is what I have found. The shock for the 93 is part number 57656-001, the 94-96 is 57655-001 and the 97 is 57797-001. The 93-96 all have the same part numbers for the dogbone and all other suspension linkage. The part number are 52491-001 and 54181-001. The same parts on the 97 are 52429-001 and 54197-001. So if the shock for a 93 is the same length as a 94 then the 95 or 96 shock would bolt right in and not change the ride height. I didnt check the springs for the different years, but if you go to bikebandit.com they have online microfiche that you can look at and get the Honda part numbers.
I have put a 95 shock on my 93 F2 and it did not change the distance between the rear axle and the seat when the bike is on the center stand.
