F2 overcharing?
I took a aride about 80 miles along the way we stoped and i could smell the battery and it was super hot!!.... and smelled like sulfer so i knew the battery wasn't long for this world and sure enough it blew the battery before we got there so i had to buy a new one i thought that would be fine but when i made it back home i could smell the same sulfer smell again but not as strong....could the VOLTAGE REGULATOR be shot and letting it overcharge any help any one ??????
It's very possible. The rectifier/regulator seems to be one of the biggest problems with the F2s. If its charging more than 14.5 volts at around 5000 rpms, then more than likely the regulator is not dumping the excess charging voltage.
yes its your R/R.. also do this http://www.offwidth.co.uk/bike/general/electrical_fault_finding.pdf
