F2 gone, time for the VFR

Yes folks, after selling my beloved '92 600f2 with 23,000 miles....I did this about a year ago to join the police academy....I finally got my 3rd bike.

A '97 Honda VFR 750

It's a beauty! Red with those killer Testarossa strakes along the fairings and the classic V-twin sound!

Also has a single sided swingarm in gorgeous, glossy black.

The seller was a great guy and get this, his bike was for sale for a long time now...and only recently did I notice it!

It's almost as if his bike was waiting for me... 14,500 on the odometer.... $3,000

I pick her up this weekend. I wish there was an Interceptor forum on this sitebut I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, just wanted to update ya'll.. Ride safe and ride smart!

Sounds like a great deal. I love my f2 too much. I might get a new one next spring, but still undecided. Probuly just do something new to this one. Its got everything I want ATM..

Mathis, the F2 was actually my first choice but they are very hard to find on Oahu, Hawaii.

So few of them and those that own them don't wanna sell.

So I decided to go with my 2nd choice, another Honda classic...the VFR 750, which I heard a lot about when i was in college. I'm 36 now.

Enjoy your F2 it is a fine machine. Much lighter and compact than my VFR which is nowhere near as nimble as your bike.

I just love that V-four sound and the fact it's all stock....and in great condition.

Thanks for replying

oh baby your gonna like that VFR I had a 96 VFR and it was a sweet ride, great comfortable, and it does sound great I had a vance & hines pipe on it all my friends loved the sound
I`ve had a 76 Suzuki 100, 1995 KE 100, 96 vfr, 2004 zx636, and now the 91 f2 and out of all of them the the VFR would be my #1 PICK..have fun riding that bike

Kawyman that's great to hear. I gotta be honest, I wish the VFR was lighter and easier to flick around but that's not what it was built for.

Just gotta get used to it. I was waiting and hoping someone would sell their f2 and one did pop up but it had 31,000 miles and by the time I decided to buy it, it was sold.

Oh well.... time for some 750 action ;)

Just some thoughts on the VFR, I rode it home today.

Lots of power, much more than the F2 but it is a different type of power.

Just because it's 750cc's vs 600, don't think the F2 is any less fun. The F2 is way more explosive power-wise, esp. when shifting gears.

I'd rather have the F2 than the 750, because I miss how light and maneuverable it was.

But I have a new family member now, and I have to give it time. The bike is big--- BIG.

But fast and very refined. Still, I leave w/this...Hug your F2's my friends. Bigger isn't always better.

Huh... V-Twin sound out of a 4 cylinder???

VFR is a V-4.... and makes about the same HP as your F2. Just at a lot more usuable RPM for the street. I've own 3 VFR's, and they are definately an awesome machine.
