Default electrical problem

so here it is for your diagnosis:
yesterday i went to go to work and the bike turned over like a low battery- kind of slow and weak
went to come home and it was ok

today went to go to work and same thing sluggish and weak start like a dying batt.
tonight- went to start it and nothing.... no lights or anything..

i have checked all of the fuses including the 30amp main, i hooked it up to a batt charger and got lights and a click's from the starter relay but its not turning over???
any help is appreciated!!

i say bad starter relay?????

try shorting across the Relay / solenoid, see if it turns over , if it does there's your problem

Fully charge your battery and test the voltage with a meter. The reading should be at least 12.8V. If it's less than that the batt needs to be replaced.

A battery charge usually will not supply enough power for a conclusive start test. You gotta have a good battery.

And given the tendency for reg/recs to go bad on these, make sure you have a good battery, then check the voltage level of the battery with the bike running. If it's low at idle and way high with rpm then your reg/rec is bad. This is always the first thing I look at with electrical trouble of any kind on old Hondas.

ok so i have done some more troubleshooting.

took the starter out and hooked it up directly to a batt charger--and it spun

hooked the batt charger up to the batt terminals and read 9V into the starter relay and nothing out.

please offer up input so that i can race on Sat!!!
