Default digital dash?

I was on another forum where a member there said he bought this off of ebay for $35.

http://forums.cbrworld.net/forums/140473/ShowPost.aspx

That thing is awesome if that would work on an F2. Anyone know who makes it? How to get one? Does it work on an F2?

Thanks.

Yeah all I'm seeing is a multi-meter for testing electrical systems. Not a digital dash... ???

A digital dash wont work on a F2 because the input from the speedo is mechanical, not electrical.

I have been looking into this and no this will not work just doing this alone. You would have a lot more to do to convert to be able to do this. I am going to try and do this this winter so I will keep you informed on what to do am what is needed and even if it can be done.

Yeah, I thought I had heard that electronics will not work on an F2. But I thought I would give it a shot anyway as the guy post it in an F2/F3 forum. I dont know why the link didnt work. Ill try to post the pic.

Yeah, i've been looking at this myself lately. I've come across a 2004 R1 speedo/tach unit for free, and I've been looking into converting it for use on my f2 engine. But i'm pretty sure I'm gonna need to use a microcontroller and a magnetic speed sensor on my tranny to get the speed.
