Daytona Steering Damper Installed!

Daytona Steering Damper Installed!
Finally got my Daytona steering damper installed on my F2. This is by far the best mod I've done to my bike yet. Installation was a bitch, the instructions were very unclear, but I finally figured it out. The damper has 7 levels of dampening, and I set mine on the highest. I took the bike for a ride, and it felt amazing. I'm a novice rider, and still have problems going around corners, especially when turning right at a stoplight. I usually try to use the handlebars to turn the bike through low speed corners, which I know isn't right. With this damper, I just push on the handlebars, and the bike sucks down to the ground and goes through the corner. When riding in a straight line the steering is much more firm, and the bike stays straight very easily. Overall, I feel safer riding with this damper installed. I wouldn't own/ride another bike without one. It was kinda pricey, $200, but well worth the money spent.

Ya, the leaning in is my problem too... I guess I just haven't been riding long enough, and I'm scared of laying the bike down, even though I know these things can get low enough to drag pegs. Dude, get it. You'll love it. And once you get it, email me so I can tell you how to install it.

question about this thing. I have to turn around in my drive to back into the garage an also back up into parking spaces at work and stuff. How does this affect turning the bars when you need to when the bike is being maneuvered around for parking and stuff?

When you're turning the handlebars at really low speeds, or basically stopped like you're describing, nothing changes. The handlebars still turn freely, with a small amount of added resistance. I haven't had a problem with that stuff though. I suppose if it did become a problem, you could reach down and lighten up the dampening level. I haven't taken mine off of the highest setting yet. I set it to the stiffest, and fell in love. You can adjust this thing while you're riding.
