Well if you actually get the kit, beware of this.....
It doesn't come with the "Nipples" or whatever you call them. The plastic shaftes that are on the OEM plastic that pops into holes, also they come primered and "Ready for paint" (My @ss) mine needs sanding and reprimered I can run my hand across the plastic and feel lil bumps. I'll robably take the project on when riding season ends in my area. I won't ride in the rain and I live in washington state. So I figure thats a good time to tear the bike down and do what I want for next season, or the rare nice day in fall/winter around here. My friend has a garage that he paint autos in and does pretty good work, he's one of those mechanical gurus so I figure I'll try and get him to help me out. I really want to do the work myself not to save a buck but so when it's done I can look at the bike and say "I did THAT myself". I'll be sure to post pics when the day arrives that I either succed and finish it or....Fail horribly <Knocks on wood>

Its not my cup of tea, but I seriously give you props for doing something different. I love the tail though. I would be really interested to see the kit on your bike! -suscribed-

I've installed this kit on my F2. I've also taken it back off of my F2 after modifying it so that it will mount up so I can make a streetfighter out of my bike. No, it is definitely NOT a bolt on kit. It took me about a week of about 3 hour days to make it fit enough to look decent. After modifying it, the painter royally screwed me over with the paint job (took approx. 3 months and I eventually had to basically go to his house and steal it out of his garage seeing how I paid up front - something I will never do again). The paint started peeling immediately and I found that the asshat didn't even prime it and only put one coat of paint on it. Anyway, to make a long story short, if you would like to purchase a used Airtech CREA body kit for the CBR 600 F2/F3, please PM me. The paint will be extremely easy to strip so you can paint it the color you want seeing how its already peeling off without stripper. It's already been modified to fit on the bike, all you have to do is supply some hardware.

Well....since I have one sitting in my garage waiting to be put onto my F2, and you have already went through the proccess of getting the thing mounted, would you mind giving me some details on what exactly it took to get it mounted. Pointers, suggestions details etc. feel free to PM me with info. I would REALLY be greatfull. As for the painting of it I have a friend I've known along time and seen his work (auto body painting etc) and have even helped him some (He was teaching me some basics etc) I'm not as worried about the paint proocess as I am about the mounting process. Would be great to have someone to talk with who has done the mounting already.
Sorry to hear about the dillhole painter screwing you over. It sounds to me like he either did poor prep work. If he only sprayed one coat of paint than that would eliminate the possibilty of getting the dry times wrong between coats which can cause orange peeling.

Doesn't that seem like a lot to anyone? What does it cost to get a whole kit for our bikes of OEM (unpainted) plastics?
The original bodywork for the F2s would cost $4500 brand new from the dealer. You can find them on eBay, but they won't be new. And you can't get them unpainted, just without decals. This quote was retrieved straight from the Honda microfiche for a black '91 model.

For those of you that think the CREA kit is ugly..... I think that the color of the paint on the website is what makes this thing look unattractive. I for one like the kit and the tail is sexy as hell. The color is gross. I would be interested in seeing the pics when you are done.

Good Luck,

Brian

Okay here's some pictures of the body work since it will only let me post one picture in a PM. The body work looks bad, but it is really dusty (been hanging around for about 1/2 a year in a motorcycle shop).
