Well if your engine is warmed up and you put your choke on it will lower RPMS and kill it most of the time.

Not necessarily. Choke is to provide more air, it acts like a ICV on a bmw or other cars. It basically is a cold start helper at any rate. Just to get the use of the choke correct, down is open, up is closed. So if you pull it down, when you first start your bike (cold) the rpm should be relatively high. Once its warmed up for a second or two the rpms should increase thus you pullin up the choke to close it. Then your rpms should decrease to normal.

Which way are you pulling the choke lever?

mmm...choke takes air away, like cold start enRICHment. say you have the bike choked cold, you can't crack the throttle because it lets in air, gets too lean for the cold engine and falls on its face. once warm, you hit the choke and it cuts off the air and the engine "chokes" to death. i learned all this working on bmw 2002's. they had water chokes that were pieces of S*%^ because when you needed the choke the most the engines coolant was cold.

When my bike is warmed up and I put the choke on, it only raises the rpm.

Well to a certain point it will, when you ride it for a while off the choke and then turn the choke on at idle it will "Choke" it causing to die generaly but it all depends what his issue is because we need a little more information.

I don't ride with the choke on. I just said that when my bike is warmed up, and I put my choke on, it raises the idle. I adjust my idle screw so that when the choke is fully off, the bike idles at 1k.

any rise in RPM's is probably due to the fuel mixture leaning out. If you tried to actually ride with the choke on you'd figure out soon enough that the engine is being starved for air.
