Default CBR 600F2 Compression numbers

Hi,

Does anyone know what the compression numbers are for a 1991 F2 CBR 600? (cold engine)

Thank you.

179-183psi is what my manual says. So around 180. Will vary more depending on your gauge.
It's probably more important that all 4 cylinder read about the same - within 5% of each other.
Otherwise you'll start to sound like a harley and you don't want that.

Seem to remember that mine were around 155-160 last time I checked.
Could be gauge error. Could also be my cylinder walls are shaped like eggs.

Hi,

Just did a compression test and all the cylinders have 75 psi...

I tried to start the bike and everything ran like it should.

Am i doing something wrong ?

Are you holding the throttle open when you crank?
Did you pull all the spark plugs?
Has the bike been sitting/parked for a long time?
Is bike extremely cold - like it's winter cold?
Was the choke on?
Is your gauge fubar?

If the bike runs fine, then you've got more than 75psi.
Your reading is wrong for some reason.
