Carb cleaning frustration
So I am trying to take em out on my F2 but I cant get to the screws that are called by CLYMER as the INTAKE MANIFOLD ENGINE CLAMP SCREWS I cant reach most of them. Supposs. there are 2 on each carb but I could only reach the first 2 on the left side. I have a print out of the post therabbit had here but his is a f4 so im sure he didnt have this problem. Anyone with an f2 dont this? Or is it easier just to clean them with them on? ANd if so how do I clean them then? Any input would help!

RE: Carb cleaning frustration
are you talking about the "hose clamps"? if so you only need to loosen one on each carb(either top or bottom), then pull and pry like crazy and they will come off.. they are usually stuck on really good!

RE: Carb cleaning frustration
I just pulled my carbs last week. All of the screws on the "manifold" hoses are on an angle. I was able to use a long screw driver to get 3 of them, but a short stubby phillips will be sufficient to get to them. All of the clamps should have the screws pointed at approximately a 45 degree away from the center line of the bike. (2 left, 2 right). You just need to loosen the screws sufficiently you don't have to remove the clamps. Then I pushed the carbs forward took firm grip and pulled.
