Can someone explain this?
I rode my bike for 30 minutes, shut off the engine and then made a phone call. After 2 mins. I tried to start my bike but had trouble starting it up again. The starter was going. I played around with the choke and then made sure I had gas. Kill switch was in the right position. Next thing I tried was twisting the throttle a little then it started but as soon as I released the throttle it stalled. So I started it again with a little throttle and then kept it revving. Then it was fine. The same sequence of events happened again when I had to turn off the engine and then restart it at home because I had to park the bike in my garage. My F2 only has 18000 kilometres.
I just recently bought it with some minor cosmetic damage but never had this issue.
Any ideas?

I had a similar problem. The rubber bellow in the petcock was ruptured.

Here`s an easy test
Take off the little left fairing with the two snap screws, and remove the vacume linefrom the carb.
Suck in the line.....if it looses pressure, its ruptured,and if it holds negative pressure, its not your problem. :-)

yeah, I am not buying the battery reasoning if the starter was turning strong. Has to be something fuel or ignition related. Since it does run, I would say more than likely fuel related...from a ruptured/blocked line or petcock to the fuel itself. I have ruptured the fuel line before and it actually started fine but drowned out as throttle was applied...that is what you would expect with a vacuum problem...too much air, not enough fuel. I would look more for a blockage somewhere.
I let my F2 sit a few months over winter (now I know better) and the next spring I had fuel delivery problems...sputtering, hard-starting, etc. Deposits in the carburetors kinda solidified and would get sucked up, clogging the jets. But it wouldn't happen all the time. Once I took the float bowls off and cleaned them, I never had the problem repeat. It was easy to see the chunks...they had formed perfect little discs from sitting in the bottom hole where the drain screw is. And that was with a brand new 91 F2 with less than 5k miles.
sounds very much like your carburetors need to come off, be thoroughly dismantled and cleaned well. I've had more than one bike, do this, one tha keeps coming back for it because the owner is too dumb to get a PROPER fuel filter.
