Bracket/fitment problem
ok, so I just got a new front race fairing from maier....its drill your own mounting holes.....and my bike used to have f3 race front and sides....it seems that the bracket is too small for the fairing..I have to kind of bend it inwords for it to be in the right placement...which forces the front center to bulge out....it is slightly bent but i couldnt see that causing that big of a problem..how can i tell if its a f2 or f3? and is there a difference?
i'm not positive what your asking but the front fairing stay for the f2 and f3 are exactly the same. you shouldn't be having any problems but if your stay is bent even a little, it will probably be a pain. you might want to get a new stay.
So im trying to fit this thing...and I measured the difference between the old fairing and the new one and there is a big difference.....I dont think the small bend would cause this big of a gap....especially because the old fairing fit perfect. Could this be a defect in the fairing?
I think it's just the fairing... I've read a lot of people having problems with getting the fiberglass upper fairings to fit right. I bought my bike used and it came with a fiberglass upper. It doesn't fit right at all.The rear part of the upperis tilted down a lot so it can bolt to the lower fairings but you can't get the fuse panel to screw down since the fuse box is sitting a little higher then the upper. it sucks...
