Hey all, I am having an issue with a 1993 Cbr600f2. I got this bike for a great deal and the only thing I have yet to fix on it is this turn signal issue I’m having. Whenever I turn on the right turn signal, they light up as they should. However, at the same time, all of the left indicators slightly illuminate (including on the dash). It’s barely noticeable in the day, but at night it looks like I got hazards on. When I turn on the left signal, the same issue is not present. It lights as it should. One of the owners beforehand were morons and a lot of the stuff I fixed was them doing stuff half-as*ed. Different fasteners everywhere, license plate bracket is crooked, and super glue holding fairings on. I looked into the switch itself, and the mechanism from my eyes seems fine, but I could very well be missing something there. I highly doubt it’s the relay but I’m really not sure. Anyone had this issue or could guide me? If I can’t fix the switch I will replace it, but the bike itself is in great condition. It’s been garage kept for 15 years, so the switch housing as well as a lot of other things look phenomenal and typically used parts don’t look as good for cheaper prices. Thanks in advance!

 

I’ve had the same issue on a car, it turned out to be a bad earth connector on one of the rhs indicators and the power was somehow running to earth through the lhs.

Fixing the earth cured the problem.

 

Could be. Honestly the turn signal/ license plate bracket and light look really sloppily put on. Could be a bad ground there. I’ll check that when I get my new brake light that has integrated signals. Could be back feeding too

 

found the issue. Not sure if it’s positive, negative, or ground yet, I don’t have a working multimeter. However, I found that the genius before me put a wire together from the left rear signal to the right rear which causes the issue im having. So once I get my new taillight the issue will be fixed. Thank you Ed you saved me a lot of time from chasing the issue right in front of my eyes
