Question Bike makes loud hiss sounds

Hey guys,

Today, I started my bike up and 3 seconds later, it started making this loud hiss sound. It happens randomly for like a split second and I can't explain why it does it. It sounds exactly like releasing pressure from the tire but except it's mainly coming from the left side of the bike. Does anyone have an explanation to this? Oh, and my idle drops when it make that noise. Happens more when I give it gas and when it does hiss, the bike studders and almost stalls. Any help is much appreciated

Check for a vacuum leak at the carbs and vacuum lines.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Get a can of carb cleaner and spray near the carb boots. If idle increases, thats your leak.

Ok, so I think I may have found the problem. The carb boot has 8 brackets that I'm supposed to tighten, I've tightened all four for the bottom half of the boot, but it seems like I'm missing the upper half? The brackets are there, but the screws are missing. So I'm guessing that's the problem. I found out also where it's making the hissing sound. Right below the carburetor underneath the boot, there's a small pipe coming out of each block. Every time it hisses, it's shooting out pressurized "stuff". #4 cylinder has the vacuum hose but it's not connected to anything and I have no clue where it is supposed to go? Does anyone have an idea? It would be much appreciated. Thanks

Ok, but where? I have the tube just dangling off the plug with no where to go. Where exactly is this hose supposed to plug into from #4?

that hose isn't suppose to be there unless your synching the carbs, normally theres just a threaded screw however if you already have the tube there just shove a screw in the and make it fit tight as hell. Thats what i did for carb number 2

Thanks, I got picked up some vacuum plugs which I will fit tightly. I will see tomorrow if my problem disappears.
